A beautiful peach-colored rose was in bloom this past weekend in the gardens at the John Harris-Simon Cameron Mansion, home of the Historical Society of Dauphin County.

Italian Lake, part of a 9.5 acre park, is located at Third and Division Streets in the Uptown neighborhood.  Dating back to 1903, it is surrounded by antique-style streetlights, textured walkways and formal gardens, and is one of the most beautiful parks in the Harrisburg area.  Its most recognized feature, the Japanese bridge shown here, is a popular site for wedding photographs.  (April 2012)

Erected in 1922 at the entrance to the Sunken Garden, this monument honors soldiers who fought during World War I.  Bolders supporting the statue were brought in from the Gettysburg Battlefield.  (April 2012)
